Ever wanted to explore the cosmos without leaving your bedroom? Welcome to the wacky world of astral projection where your soul takes a solo trip while your body catches some Z's.

If this term is new to you or you've been hearing it on TikTok but aren't quite sure what it means Astral projection, also known as soul journey or soul wandering is a term used in esotericism to describe an intentional out-of-body experience.

Some people do experience this state during severe illness or when involved in a near-death experience. However, it is also possible to practice astral projection at will.

What's the current hype all about?

Picture this, you're chilling in Nairobi, but your spirit is soaring over the Savannah, high-fiving giraffes and photo bombing lions. That's astral projection for you a cosmic joyride with your soul as the pilot.

It's like dreaming on steroids, with a dash of intergalactic flair.

How to Astral glide Like a Maasai Warrior:

Achieving astral projection might sound as elusive as spotting a unicorn in the Mara, but fear not, my friends it's totally doable. There are no hard and fast rules.

1. Master the Art of Relaxation: Think of astral projection as a zen marathon for your mind. Get cozy, close your eyes, and bid farewell to stress it's time to chill like a penguin in the Arctic.

However, it is best to start in the early morning hours when you're still feeling drowsy as opposed to at night when you're heavily sleepy.

2. Visualize, Visualize, Visualize: Channel your inner Picasso and paint a mental picture of your astral destination, you have to have an understanding of where you want to go.

Not just wander aimlessly. Whether it's the slopes of Mount Kenya or the beaches of Mombasa, visualize yourself there intently.

3. Create the perfect atmosphere: Astral projection requires a state of deep relaxation, so it should be performed in a part of your home where you feel completely comfortable and safe. Rid the room of distracting noises and people, draw the curtains then lie down and relax.

4. Float Away: Now comes the fun part letting your spirit soar! Imagine yourself gently lifting off like a hot air balloon, leaving your earthly worries behind.

Feel the rush as you glide through the astral realm, high-fiving passing comets and doing loop-de-loops around Jupiter.

Use your mind to flex your body part, but do not physically move it. Visualize your toes curling and uncurling, or your fingers clenching and unclenching, until it seems as though they are physically moving.

5. Stay Grounded (Sort of): As you navigate the astral seas, remember to keep one foot or should I say, one soul tethered to reality. Stay aware of your surroundings and set an intention for your astral adventure whether it's soul-searching, stargazing, or just plain old fun.

Once you leave your body don't turn around to look at your body. Instead, leave the room and walk into another room in the house.

Ps: it can be helpful to use a quartz crystal to raise and speed up your vibrations as preparation.

Gently hold the crystal on your third eye slightly above the centre of your eyebrows with closed eyes and breathe deeply.

Feel the vibrations and your head clearing; you can envision golden, white, purple, or any colour light if you like. The crystal will empower and protect you because of its high vibrations.

Astral Origins: From Maasai Myth to Modern Marvel:

So, where did this cosmic craze come from, you ask? Astral projection is an ancient practice that has been used by many cultures throughout history.

Fast forward to the present day, and astral projection has become the darling of New Age spirituality, with folks from Nairobi to New York harnessing its transformative power.
