A little over a year after South African artist Costa Titch collapsed and died in front of hundreds of thousands of people, his mother Lara Langeveld notes that she has found closure.

This is after an autopsy report that the family had been conducted by pathologists came back with intricate details revealing what actually led to the musician's sudden demise.

Titch's family shared their findings with the world mostly in a bid to dispel rumours that the 28-year-old rapper was on drugs, might have been poisoned, or had epilepsy.

Said rumours had made rounds on social media gaining momentum with each repost as people fought to find answers.

“The post-mortem examination revealed significant strain on Costa’s heart, unbeknownst to him, compounded by enduring stress and fatigue. This culmination likely led to an irregular heartbeat, triggering the seizure that claimed his life," part of the statement shared by the late Titch's family reads.

Costa Titch collapsed while performing at the Ultra Music Festival at the Expo Centre in Johannesburg on March 11. He collapsed twice while on stage, with the second fall leading to his life being cut short.

Speaking to Tshisa LIVE, Costa Titch's mother said she wanted to clear her son's legacy.

“My priority was to find out what caused my son's death. Society judges musicians by their appearance and people thought my son was on drugs. I know Costa hated drugs, we were very close. He loved children and would never have wanted them to think he was on drugs and I know that was the message he wanted to send out," the grieving mother said.

Lara went on to note she believed her son travelling to “25 countries in one year did put a strain on his health but she takes a little bit of comfort in knowing he died doing what he loved.

“He did what he loved. It's hard for me, but I know he loved music. I have to accept this. This gives me a bit of closure. He has to rest now and at least it puts all these rumours with people saying drugs and all of that stuff off him, because he honestly was not that," Lara candidly said.
